Great company - Customer Support Specialist This Is Alice Employee Review

The mission and product have very real integrity. Our profits are directly tied to saving employees money. I'm not aware of any other profit models that get to be so humane. Extremely respectful work environment that offers plenty of freedom and support whenever you need it. I trust everyone here and feel confident that I am trusted. I feel like I can be myself and can approach my work in a way that I'm comfortable with. There's no micromanagement from anyone, but people will communicate with you when there's a preferred way to approach something. There's a lot of room to move around and grow! My strengths have been rewarded, and my interests are heard. I feel comfortable speaking to my team lead about any AORS that I'd like to get away from. There's a lot of transparency and anyone from any team is more than willing to take the time to speak with you about anything you'd like to learn more about. There's a ton of room for growth, but only when you're ready and you want it. Doing a good job is rewarded, benefits are excellent, and the culture is super comfortable and welcoming.

It's a startup, so it can be hectic, chaotic, frustrating, and challenging. I think this is only a con for certain people though? I honestly enjoy it, but I can imagine there are plenty of people who would want something a little more consistent. To a degree this job is what you make it; for me, that's a huge plus, but I can imagine some people might be looking for more structure. I don't want to sound disingenuous here, but there aren't any cons at Alice that I haven't experienced tenfold at other places. For me it's a perfect environment and the work feels important and interesting to me. I can be super idealistic, and I have very high standards especially when it comes to the way I'm treated by those above me in the hierarchy. Alice is my genuinely my favorite place I've ever worked, and I've never been as proud or felt as connected to the work I'm doing anywhere else.

Toxic culture, horrible hours with expected weekend work/meetings, and no regard for a personal life outside of work. Regular micro-managing, looking over your shoulder, and wasted time having to keep detailed track of productivity meanwhile founder(s) throw out team's work at the last minute and kill the team to redo it to their personal preferences. Witnessed founders lying to prospects regularly. Respect, trust in the people doing the work, and giving good direction was scarce while panic, constant changes in direction, unrealistic timeline expectations, poor communication, finger-pointing, and a facade of civility and politeness was prolific. Witnessed a founder mid-convo turn to a young team member and reactively give negative feedback in front of everyone at a social company event where we were supposed to be bonding. CEO is an ex-finance bro turned Steve Jobs wannabe that would threaten employees with termination during meetings. A psychologically unsafe place where employees felt bait-and-switched after joining.
