The interview process at Tia was disorganized and lasted for approximately 4 months. During this time, there were long periods with no communication from the team. No response to emails for weeks. When they finally resurfaced, I was told Tia was “restructuring” their hiring process and was offered a salary $20k less than they originally offered during the initial interview. Information that was given to me regarding my start date, salary was ever-changing for weeks. I was able to negotiate to a salary that was workable and accepted the offer, signed the contract and gave notice at my job of 5 years. In hindsight, it would have been wise to listen to my gut and the red flags that were presented to me throughout the interview process, but I believed in Tia’s mission and truly wanted to be a part of a team that aims to make mental health care more accessible to women. When voicing my concerns to the team, I was reassured that everything was set and official. Two weeks before start date, I quit my job at a prestigious hospital that has excellent job security. I was sent the equipment for remote work and completed all necessary documents for Tia’s credentialing process. One week before start date my first week’s schedule was emailed to me and connected to more of the team. Five days before start date I received a call from Tia stating that my offer was rescinded and I would no longer be joining the company, due to “new developments and restructuring” at Tia. Tia has left me jobless with no health insurance, in complete shock and in need of clarity. It is devastating to say the least. Any interested clinicians considering Tia as a place of employment should run, don’t walk, away.
