Pros
When you start this appears to be such a fantastic and exciting job! I got the job out of 8000 applicants. Really generous staff discount. Met some really fantastic people and some invaluable skills.
Cons
Existing staff don't seem to be very nice or welcoming when it comes to new starters. Extremely high turnover with both managers and staff in general, we had 25 people leave the business within 5 months. They don't want to progress current staff, they need to be fresh staff. They don't value how long you have been there or how hard you work. If you don't make your life devoted to this job you won't get far. Management like to micro manage, tell you everything that you are doing wrong, but never tell you what you are doing right and what you should be recognised for.. Staff will do anything to move up including sabotage other staff. They provide cheap uniforms that dye the colour of your skin and nails and you end up going to get your nails done every two weeks because of how black they go. They don't support uni students with holidays. I have been here for nearly 3 years and they could never promote me to part time. I applied 4 times, despite smashing every KPI they still chose to hire externally and tell me i wasnt good enough. The fourth time they told me to withdraw my application and then they went and hired all the christmas casuals, about 15 to part time.
