Pros
The work is easy, you will have a few busy hours in your shift and easily 5-6 hours to surf the internet, apply to other jobs, whatever. The other concierge's are pretty cool, and the residents are generally nice.
Cons
Management will lie to your face, they're very manipulative and weird. When I started, they asked me if I wanted to be a 'floating' concierge for extra pay, which basically meant I wouldn't have a set schedule and would have to fill in positions at different sites. When I got to my first day, I found out I wasn't being paid extra, they had just lied to me. When I requested time off for Thanksgiving and Christmas they called me into a meeting with HR and the concierge manager to talk to me about my "worrying pattern of behavior" of requesting time off - even though this was the first time I had requested time off. They forced me to pick having either Thanksgiving or Christmas off and refused to allow me to take both but with fewer days off. Then, after I chose to take the longer vacation at Christmas, the HR manager emails me after the meeting to tell me I'm responsible for finding coverage for those days off, which is impossible because they are chronically understaffed. They also had this weird policy that they wouldn't let people stay on part time, there were a few people working there who were going back to school and they wouldn't let them work part time. We were always short staffed, but they told them they had to pick between going to school and working at the job.
