Pros
They paid decently well and didn't demand exceptionally long hours of anyone. Funds have a long track record and there is a sizable existing asset base.
Cons
There is an extensive amount of nepotism at this firm although it's to be expected at many firms of this size. The people running the sales team at this institution are unorganized, have little clear direction. There was a big cultural divide with the sales team treated as "overhead" while the PMs were put on a pedestal. Promises of big upsides are the carrot used by management but the products are rather difficult to push as they are very non-traditional and do not easily fit the retail Morningstar model. It would be difficult to recommend Tocqueville to professionals legitimately interested in financial sales.
