We’re sorry to hear that your overall experience at Topps Tiles didn’t meet your expectations.
However, it’s encouraging to know that you had the opportunity to build strong relationships during your six years with us, particularly with your Store Manager. We’re proud to hear that your manager fostered such a positive working environment for you both.
Regarding your concerns about pay and workload, our advertised OTE earnings are based on actual performances of our in-store colleagues, and we are confident that they are realistically achievable. That said, we understand that everyone’s experience can differ, and we continue to monitor and review our compensation practices to ensure they are fair and motivating.
As you mentioned, our stores operate seven days a week, including bank holidays, except for Christmas. We aim to balance operational needs with our colleagues' well-being. All store colleagues receive 240 hours of annual leave, including bank holidays, which can increase to 288 hours with length of service. We work hard to ensure that store rotas allow for a fair distribution of shifts, so our team members can fully enjoy their leave throughout the year.
We understand that footfall can vary through the week, and while we may not always be as busy as some other retailers, we take pride in our consultative sales approach. With 20% of the UK’s tile market coming through our doors and a loyal base of trade and retail customers, we believe in the value of building strong, long-term relationships with our customers.
Safety is a top priority for us, and we want every colleague to feel safe at work. We do have CCTV across Topps Group premises, we also have a range of policies and procedures in place to protect our colleagues.
