Pros

Some of the staff you work with are like family. Most you will find are very snakey.

Cons

Poor pay for amount of hours worked. They threw up impossible budget to meet on the basis no one would get a bonus payout. Deep down they had low targets set behind the scenes. Just not to pay out bonus. They have no cctv for your protection. They are not a very busy business and hardly have customers. They are extremely expensive. They alowe you to think your manager of tour store when they want you to think, otherwise you still do what they say, so really we're just the idiots that deal with all the complaints, all the hardmanship, putting together plans of sales down to the marketing when that should be all done by a marketing department or head office or Regional/Area manager, but no they all pass the buck to the idiots and they want to take the glory when we hit budget! Head office are absolutley useless and get paid to do absolutley nothing! They will even call us to deal with complaits we do not have the power to fix! We always get the angry customer because of the fault head office or ttd make. Its not on!

Regarding your concerns about pay and workload, our advertised OTE earnings are based on actual performances of our in-store colleagues, and we are confident that they are realistically achievable. That said, we understand that everyone’s experience can differ, and we continue to monitor and review our compensation practices to ensure they are fair and motivating. As you mentioned, our stores operate seven days a week, including bank holidays, except for Christmas. We aim to balance operational needs with our colleagues' well-being. All store colleagues receive 240 hours of annual leave, including bank holidays, which can increase to 288 hours with length of service. We work hard to ensure that store rotas allow for a fair distribution of shifts, so our team members can fully enjoy their leave throughout the year. We understand that footfall can vary through the week, and while we may not always be as busy as some other retailers, we take pride in our consultative sales approach. With 20% of the UK’s tile market coming through our doors and a loyal base of trade and retail customers, we believe in the value of building strong, long-term relationships with our customers. Safety is a top priority for us, and we want every colleague to feel safe at work. We do have CCTV across Topps Group premises, we also have a range of policies and procedures in place to protect our colleagues. We encourage our colleagues to voice any concerns they may have through internal feedback channels like TeamTalk or external, confidential helplines. No real room for progression. Length of service taken over skill and ability
