Pros
Good training Strong camaraderie Opportunity for growth as a young professional Multiple skill advancement opportunities Good training for grads looking for a temporary position to get their career going if they need options
Cons
Long hours Make or break business, base pay not enough to survive on Customer base is vicious Leadership does not care about employees Working conditions border on barbaric depending on office Benefits offered are bare minimum to avoid federal/state fines Work life balance is non existent Top level reps dominate a majority of markets, very little business left for reps to capture Leads and competition amongst reps can become vicious as customers are taken from reps if not consistently doing business Partners used to run shipping lanes (I.e. drivers/fleets) are woefully underpaid, which creates a more dangerous market as less qualified drivers are pulled to do business for brokers. Multiple lawsuits against company over working conditions.
