DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT - Recruiter TotalMed Staffing Employee Review

Pros

The pros when I first started at the company far outweighed the cons, but due to the acquisition of the company this is an absolute nightmare now. Only pros were my coworkers.

Cons

Where do I even begin? Management are a bunch of fraternity members trying to be intelligent. There is absolutely no growth anymore in the travel market with no plans to change commission and salary structure. Upper management blames recruiters for the downturn in sales when in reality the entire market is crashing. BDMs are a joke and a half- can never secure deals quicker than competition so you'll constantly be disappointed. Massive layoff happened of over 50+ recruiters and other staff yet are "still hiring talent." No job security, will have the worst anxiety you could ever experience week in and week out trying to meet expectations, you are in no way actually cared about as a person rather than you will consistently feel like you're just a number. Do yourself a favor and don't even think about it. Oh and the starting salary and even first 6 months of work you'll be making barely enough money to get by.

Pros

Flexibility, the people, a culture where people help each other, remote work with option to come into office (although you need to pay for parking to do so)

Cons

This used to be the most enjoyable and rewarding job. I had so, so much fun here. I cried when I left, because Stella has turned this into a dumpster fire. Constantly pinching pennies and costing themselves dollars. Cutting resources, telling recruiters and BDMs to do 3x more with less. Toxic culture once you get beyond your pod, especially if you need to deal with 90% of the folks in Payroll. COMPLETELY disengaged leadership who reads surveys, and then gives corporate lip-service to actual issues once a quarter. Pay is super uncompetitive now, and the company has shifted to marketing to recent high school/college grads. Tons of people have either left, or have been victims of the last 3 rounds of layoffs - another round may be on the way after the merger with TNAA. Culture was once incredibly fun, and now, it's a shell of it's former self. I miss the old TotalMed.
