Pros

You can be fully mediocre and not only maintain your employment but you will still stand a good chance of getting promoted assuming you remain agreeable and you never question orders. The work life balance is pretty good. The place is a ghost town outside of the normal 9-5 hours. Lots of people "work" from home often.

Cons

All but a very small minority of management became managers by hanging around long enough to, as another reviewer said, "under-achieve their way into management roles". You can't trace their rise to management positions to any achievements or noteworthy successes, but you can clearly trace them to someone else's mistake or a senior manager seeking toady/ obsequious (pause while they look these words up) underlings.
