Sometimes I feel like the success of the company is not passed onto the workforce -- that the base workers are just perceived as a monolith, and any improvements in the company are seen as coming from the upper management. There's an often repeated sentiment that a single yearly bonus of an executive is enough to give the entire workforce an extra 4k at the end of the year -- inaccurate or not, that's the feeling many people have.
We know that it's a combination of production innovating, adapting and perfecting, and corporate innovating in the sales, distribution, and marketing sectors. However, I find that the cultural and geographical isolation of the plants from the offices means there's a greater number of challenges facing the effective growth of cross-functional teams and relationships.
Company-wide transparency is improving but still pretty poor.
