Pros

Close to my residence and well, that's about it. Well, I have to put 20 Words on this. So, I guess it's close to some good food establishments.

Cons

The majority of the ER Nurses are rude and do not care about the patients. They talk about every patient that walks in the door and laugh about them over their radio/headset. The clinical staff in the ER also have their own Soap Opera going on because they're all sleeping with one another and then hating one another the next day. It's nearly impossible to get a nurse to answer a call bell for a patients ER room. There are a few (maybe 5 or 6) ER nurses who are actually great at what they do and stay out of the drama. The nurses & other clinical staff in the ER treat other departments like trash. If I'm not mistaken, I believe all employees are supposed to follow the code of conduct and treat other employees with respect. Well, that's definitely not happening here. Don't bother voicing your concern in a professional manner and trying to improve departmental communication. You'll just get your hand slapped and it won't be confidential, as promised. Not sure where to even start with upper management. I've seen mediocre management in other Patient Access areas, but in the ER, support from your Manager and Director are basically non-existent. Don't bother asking them for advice or training on anything. It doesn't help and you'll only get chewed out for not doing something a few weeks later anyway, even though they know you have no training on the matter at hand. I've worked in a few healthcare facilities previously and I've never seen such chaos and lack of compassion and care. I've worked places where I knew I was getting the best care available, but after working here, I tell my family to pass by this hospital if they ever need to bring me in. If you interview here and leave with an amazing, promising feeling, just give it some time. Most things that seem too good to be true, usually are. Beware!!!!!!!

Pros

The experience and once the providers feel comfortable around they will teach you everything and anything. You may not personally like your co-workers but they will jump to help you especially of your patient is about to or is taking a turn for the worst. The benefits was decent for a single person

Cons

Management. Your direct manager/director or the executive officers. There were plenty of nights where almost everybody was tripled and if they were not tripled they were double with devices most of the time an unstable double. There is absolutely no rom for education equally. Sure you can take the class but you will not get the hours to train or get certify. Management do not care and do not help out. They will help out dayshift and leave nights to suffer. A lot of favortism and I've seen new nurses leave because of bullying and management knows who the ppl are but because they are the managers favorite and is trained on devices they let it slide. You literally have to stand your ground with these bullies for them to leave you alone.
