Pros

The most supportive and engaged senior leadership team I have ever worked for - and I have worked in 3 different hospitals across SC. ACNO and CFO regularly round on patients, CEO and CNO consistently round on staff and know them by name!

Cons

Change is difficult for staff, but certainly necessary. Some staff cannot handle change even when it is for the betterment of care. This creates staff turnover = a void until qualified positions can be filled.

Pros

There are usually Supportive coworkers

Cons

Management does not care about you as an employee at all and it is even worse on night shift. They care about money and patient surveys, but don’t actually care about the safety of the patients or their staff.

Pros

Close to my residence and well, that's about it. Well, I have to put 20 Words on this. So, I guess it's close to some good food establishments.

Cons

The majority of the ER Nurses are rude and do not care about the patients. They talk about every patient that walks in the door and laugh about them over their radio/headset. The clinical staff in the ER also have their own Soap Opera going on because they're all sleeping with one another and then hating one another the next day. It's nearly impossible to get a nurse to answer a call bell for a patients ER room. There are a few (maybe 5 or 6) ER nurses who are actually great at what they do and stay out of the drama. The nurses & other clinical staff in the ER treat other departments like trash. If I'm not mistaken, I believe all employees are supposed to follow the code of conduct and treat other employees with respect. Well, that's definitely not happening here. Don't bother voicing your concern in a professional manner and trying to improve departmental communication. You'll just get your hand slapped and it won't be confidential, as promised. Not sure where to even start with upper management. I've seen mediocre management in other Patient Access areas, but in the ER, support from your Manager and Director are basically non-existent. Don't bother asking them for advice or training on anything. It doesn't help and you'll only get chewed out for not doing something a few weeks later anyway, even though they know you have no training on the matter at hand. I've worked in a few healthcare facilities previously and I've never seen such chaos and lack of compassion and care. I've worked places where I knew I was getting the best care available, but after working here, I tell my family to pass by this hospital if they ever need to bring me in. If you interview here and leave with an amazing, promising feeling, just give it some time. Most things that seem too good to be true, usually are. Beware!!!!!!!
