Pros

Working from home, usually paid early

Cons

This place is toxic. They expect you to take on more and more responsibility without a pay increase and below market wages. The management don't know what they are doing. They are trying to venture into software products, without having the expertise in place to do this. The products they are building are not wanted in the market, so it is impossible to then sell them. Instead of hiring experts at the beginning of the process, they are now hiring in people with experience several years down the process, when it is too late and there are unreasonable deadlines to get to market, when the software is not fit for purpose.

Pros

Some people are friendly if you don't report to a director you are likely to be fine.

Cons

Salaries were frequently delayed without prior notice, making it difficult to plan financially for my family. Despite promoting a strong culture and values, the actual work environment felt toxic, with poor communication from senior management. Following multiple redundancies, expectations remained unchanged despite significantly reduced staffing levels. Leadership, including the CEO and CFO, often failed to honor commitments, reflecting a lack of accountability. Ultimately, the consistent lack of respect for both my work and me as an individual led me to resign. People who leave for money return, but people who leave for the culture never return back. HR does nothing about it.

Pros

Nice colleagues and friendly people

Cons

The CFO has failed to put in place even the most basic financial processes required to run the company effectively. Despite significant hiring within the finance function, there is still no clear financial governance, no reliable forecasting, and no long-term financial projection. The company is operating with insufficient cash flow to reliably meet payroll obligations, relying instead on ad-hoc monthly transfers, with no evident mitigation or corrective action from the CFO. This lack of financial leadership and proactive planning has directly contributed to repeated rounds of redundancies across multiple departments over the past year — outcomes that could have been avoided with competent, hands-on financial management. Similarly, the HR function has demonstrated a complete absence of empathy, transparency, or people-centred decision-making throughout this period, further compounding the organisational impact. I don't understand why the CEO doesn't do much about it, he seems to treat DCS better as there were salary reviews only for them.
