Toxic and Immature

Pros

Working from home, usually paid early

Cons

This place is toxic. They expect you to take on more and more responsibility without a pay increase and below market wages. The management don't know what they are doing. They are trying to venture into software products, without having the expertise in place to do this. The products they are building are not wanted in the market, so it is impossible to then sell them. Instead of hiring experts at the beginning of the process, they are now hiring in people with experience several years down the process, when it is too late and there are unreasonable deadlines to get to market, when the software is not fit for purpose.

Pros

Occasional travel opportunities if signed off.

Cons

I don't recommend working at Trilateral Research: 1. There is a severe lack of opportunities for progression internally as management prefers hiring externally. Staff are expected to take on responsibilities of a senior role for months and years to even be considered for promotion. 2. There is a severe lack of transparency and clear communication from (senior) management. CEO is incredibly removed from its employees, particularly from staff in the research department. Impossible to reach CEO regarding any concerns or suggestions, communication always goes through senior management, making it very hierarchical. 3. For a company that puts innovation at the heart of its business model senior management lack creativity, skills, and  willingness to steer away from 'business as usual' and what worked in the past - to the detriment of staff. 4. Lack of appreciation and acknowledgement of the value that the research department is bringing to the company. Instead, there is a clear prioritisation of the tech department. 5. Concerningly hostile behavior from HR towards staff if something that is not in the interest of HR is being raised. Lack of genuine support of staff, creating an environment of distrust. 6. No opportunity for further actual development within the career, such as adequate learning opportunities (paid courses and certificates). Instead, staff is expected to 'learn as you go' and teach each other on areas nobody has proper experience in. 7. Benefits offered are the bare minimum required by law and rarely go beyond that.

Pros

Flexible working hours but that's about it

Cons

For this admin role you need to have master's degree, research experience (even though you don't do any), and graphic design skills. This is all rewarded by below-the-average salary which is justified by creating social impact and working in the non-profit sector (even though the company is very profit oriented). The company doesn't care about this role, there are no career prospects, you don't get any professional development opportunities, you deal with rude people, and the line management also doesn't have the resources they would need. As far as the senior management is concerned, I heard them saying very disturbing comments about business partners from Eastern Europe on various occasions. This was really disappointing, given the way the company presents itself externally. Overall, the whole communications team changes every year. Which I think speaks for itself.
