Pros
Whether you’ll like it here or not depends entirely on your own attitude, work ethic, and integrity. I want anyone who joins to really want to be here, so I have been up front with candidates and team members that we’re running a business. We need to respond to customer feedback as well as trends in buying based on seasonality and the market by pivoting and testing quickly. Thriving team members are paying attention, reliable, responsive, thoughtful, and solutions oriented. True Classic team members are encouraged to keep calls short and not spend their whole day in meetings, so they have enough time to focus on doing their best work, prioritizing the actions that will be the most impactful. When you are laser focused on what would be best for the customer, it will become obvious what the next right thing to do is. You will thrive here if you are coachable and can apply an attitude of beginner’s mind to your areas of responsibility. You will be held accountable for the performance of your channels, which the team finds enlivening. It’s not the kind of place where you can hide out. If you find you need something to do your job better, speak up. Even if you don’t know what to ask for or who to ask, that’s ok. You will be surrounded by smart people who care and can help you find solutions. As someone who works directly with them, I have a different perspective on Ben and Ryan. Yes, they’re passionate, intense, direct guys. And they don’t always agree with each other or expect everyone to agree with them. They listen and are open to feedback. I’ve seen them make changes when they realize something is not working. They want to make things better for the team, so they are putting in structures and processes to improve how we work together, evolving the company from its early startup days, yet striving to stay true to its roots. They feel an enormous sense of responsibility to positively impact the business and a commitment to delivering an awesome customer experience. If you get feedback from them or anyone else, take it, learn from it, and do better next time. Yes, you’ll be challenged to do your best. There is tension between the two company values of moving the needle and executing as a pro. It can be done though. Playing the game of “how can I be fast and good?” is a game worth playing.
Cons
It’s remote, which comes with challenges.
