– Very limited feedback and unclear expectations for new hires
– Abrupt and impersonal handling of terminations
– Poor workforce planning and unrealistic ramp-up expectations
I joined Trustpilot in September and relocated for the job. Unfortunately, my experience ended very negatively.
After only a few months, several recently hired employees were dismissed during probation, including myself, with very little prior feedback or clear performance discussions. The decision and communication felt abrupt and impersonal. For people who had relocated or made significant personal commitments to join the company, this was particularly difficult.
What was most disappointing was the lack of transparency and planning. New hires were expected to deliver results quickly, often with customer portfolios that had not been actively managed for long periods (6 months to a year), and without a structured ramp-up.
In several cases, renewals involved price increases of €10K–€15K rather than the typical 10–15% adjustment, sometimes without meaningful engagement with the customer. These outcomes were considered 'strong performance' results, which raised concerns about the maturity of the enterprise customer success approach.
Despite actively managing accounts and receiving no formal warnings or improvement plans, the termination came suddenly.
Be cautious about relocating for this without strong clarity on expectations and long term stability.
