Pros

Kronos is an extremely well run company and has been profitable year after year. There is a lot of opportunity to move within the company. Engineering uses the scrum/agile process. Much better than waterfall! Engineering offers "work from home" days twice a week. Engineering also has "Kronovation Days", allowing employees to innovate over a 1 - 3 day period. Engineering is moving to a newly renovated building in September 2012 - they are investing millions of dollars into the employees with this move. The new building will have state of the art technology in conference rooms as well as a fitness center. The company is driving change in the culture and values, for example, offering working from home and Kronovation Days. Engineering is now global, with offices in the US, Montreal, and Noida. The people at Kronos are wonderful - you will never find better co-workers at any other company. The founders of the company are visionary. Every employee has complete trust in Aron Ain. It can be a really fun place to work!

Cons

Over the past several years, Kronos has moved 40% of Engineering outside of the United States. The bar has been raised on performance, which overall is a good thing, but has resulted in terminations of some really great people. As a large company, Kronos suffers from many of the same issues other large companies have: communication can be lacking, there can be red tape, and process can trump progress.

Pros

Working from home and the benefits are okay, but not really any different from those in most other organizations.

Cons

Too many managers are ill-informed about how much work there is to complete. Too many meetings pull employees away from work, yet they are chastised for work-life balance. I do not want to miss a deadline, so I work extra hours but don't report them. Processes seem to change daily. People-first is all but forgotten. Customer service is the unsung hero, carrying the weight of the world but often overlooked. Unrealistic classroom times leave little to no time for Q&A. There are manager pets and clicks in the organization. "Ohana" (meaning Family) is a joke. Do not share innovations with others; they are often stolen by others who will take accolades and credit for themselves. There are egotistical managers who could use a lesson in humility. Growth is nearly impossible. Personal review is a waste of my time. The manager is going to override my ratings with their own. Just give me my review and let's get on with it. It's been all downhill since the merge. Layoffs are a constant worry.
