Pros

Extremely exciting and rewarding professional experience to work for advancing the rights of children with highly committed technical experts. Very good welfare package including health insurance, paternity leave, pension and education for dependents (benefits vary depending on the contract types).

Cons

Almost no job security guaranteed. You will be expected to pouch a post on competitive basis every 2-3 years and posts are cut without hesitation if the management needs be. This is not an organization you may want if the job security is on your priority list. Recruitment process is lengthy - usually taking at least 3 months.

Pros

Working at the UN was an amazing experience, being able to take part in such a significant mission was great.

Cons

As I was not a full-time volunteer and was also responsible for fundraising in my territory, I felt that I did not receive the same treatment as the other volunteers. It was a challenging role and experience, and at times it felt like my well-being was not fully considered.
