Pros

You can Learn Teamwork and great Technical Skills.

Cons

Choose your rate Choose your Fate. I am not sure who is coming up with Recruiting Strategy, Manning and Advancement Planning and etc, feels like it needs to be changed from the foundation. Certain jobs cannot advance even with perfect score if you do not have the job performance score(Evaluation) significant higher than other peers throughout the Navy. But certain jobs you can advance to E-7 with minimum time in service. Sometimes you can see 17 year e-6 in the same field but you see a 7 year Chief due to like 65~100 percent advancement rate up to E-6

Pros

It is what you make out of it. You'll have good days and bad days. It's all dependent on your leadership. That can make or break the command. Medical is free, but can take a while to get seen. You'll meet a lot of new people and could travel around the world depending on your duty station. Education benefits and training.

Cons

Medical can take a while to get seen, unless it's an emergency. If you're single, the pay isn't that great, but you don't have to much to worry about for bills if you live on base. If you're on sea duty billet, your work life balance will be terrible.
