Pros
An employee-driven organization in my opinion - seen many on both sides of the scale so far, so can compare. From my experience, people are appreciated and treated well. My colleagues are simply awesome, I feel that I'm surrounded by smart, caring individuals everywhere I look. This a bright and very welcomed exception in the times of toxic surveillance comeback where so many companies are saying "everyone must return to the office". UpCloud is instead saying "Employees know where and how they work best, no need for a kindergarten for adults." I used to be a 100% remote person, but now I'm enjoying the office because nobody is forcing me to go there! Employees are trusted, and the work-life balance is on point. Great employer for anyone who doesn't care for corporate nonsense, or hierarchy, and wants to be among bright individuals who care about their work without toxic workaholism. Reading through some of the past negative reviews, gotta say my experience has been the complete opposite. Who knows there may have been positive changes made during the past year or two?
Cons
There's not too much to complain about so far. I've been with the company for a couple of months. One can usually detect by this time if there's something completely off. The strategy-creating process seems quite a hassle though. Could it benefit from more structure and clearer metrics to enable more efficient and clear decision-making? These are only guesses by someone who has only been watching it from a viewer's standpoint.
