Pros

One pro of working here is the supportive and collaborative nature of many of the colleagues. Despite the challenges posed by senior leadership, the team on the ground level is often willing to help one another, share knowledge, and work together to get things done.

Cons

I’ve had the unfortunate experience of working at this company for a while, and it’s clear that the senior leadership team is failing at their most basic responsibilities—mentoring and developing their employees. The lack of proper guidance and feedback from leaders has left many talented individuals feeling undervalued and underprepared for career growth. Instead of fostering a supportive environment for personal and professional development, senior leaders are more focused on maintaining their own power and status. Another issue that stands out is the promotion process. It's disheartening to see individuals promoted who clearly do not deserve it, while those who have consistently put in the effort and demonstrated their capabilities are left behind. This has created a culture of resentment and frustration among employees who are working hard but not being recognized. Lastly, the owner of the company has fostered a toxic environment. Their approach to business is rooted in micromanagement and a lack of empathy for employees. Overall, the lack of mentorship, unjust promotions, and toxic leadership make this company a difficult and demoralizing place to work.

Pros

Initially, the owners checked in once a month, but they have since increased meetings to weekly. Unfortunately, these sessions rarely result in meaningful change or tangible outcomes. The owners are not open to feedback and often react rudely to any suggestions. After offering feedback, you may find yourself ignored for weeks, with no acknowledgment of your concerns.

Cons

Working at VPAC initially appeared promising, but as the projects progresses, it becomes evident that support is minimal. There is no mentoring, or guidance, You are handed a computer and a desk and expected to navigate everything independently. Moreover, the owners seem to punish staff for voicing concerns or raising issues. They prefer complaints to be made privately, ensuring that no one else is aware of any dissatisfaction or issues within the company. Financially, the company struggles with cash flow, causing vendors to wait 120+ days for payment. Due to VPAC’s poor reputation in the construction industry, they face challenges when working with reputable landowners. Many of their new construction projects end up facing legal action, further tarnishing the company’s standing.
