Pros
Working in the Oncology sector is rewarding in the fact that I can contribute to getting therapies to patients.
Cons
Working at Vaniam Group leads to much disappointment. Despite the lip-service given to being an "Evergreen Company", which espouses to put "people first," they keep around and maintain clients that treat the employees in a horrible manner. Holding onto these clients brings about significant turnover for those that have to work with these clients. It is clear that "people first" equals clients and NOT employees. Even though this is a virtual company, I am continually surprised by the number of technology-averse coworkers, who are wholly resistant to change and even wear it as a badge of honor that they are unable to spend 5 seconds to Google a question about Microsoft Office. Why the management allows this sort of behavior is beyond me, and some of the members of the management team are the worst offenders. For a medical communications company, basic computer and word processing literacy should be required. One particular thing to look about for is the gaslighting by the managers. I have never seen such textbook examples of this behavior anywhere else in my career. Unfortunately, for the company and the employees, this demeaning practice rises all the way up to the CEO.
