Management:
• Poor communication across entire organization with regards to what other departments are working on
• Lack of leadership and appreciation across upper management
HR/Interview Process:
• Lack of involvement or support from Human Resources with respect to employee performance, coaching and developing
• Disorganized training and onboarding for new hires. As a new employee it’s difficult to understand what each department does for the organization due to lack of training and education
• They focused a lot on team work and effective communication during the interview process, two things this company really lacks
Culture:
• Lack of company culture at corporate headquarters - very few onsite activities or employee outings, everything is about work
• Company is entirely sales focused – other departments perceived as less important
• Job expectations are not always clear - you have to do a lot of mind reading to figure out what upper management is looking for
• There’s a lot of favoritism
Work/Life Balance:
• Difficult to maintain work/life balance with excessive traveling and working long hours
• Employees are overworked and have too much on their plates regardless of what department they are in - the work never gets done no matter how many hours you put in as other Vapotherm employees have also said
• Unless you're working in customer service, plan to be traveling/flying a lot for company meetings
• Mediocre paid time off and benefits compared to other organizations
• Staff who take PTO often end up working on their days off
