Pros
Nice office, stable performing company
Cons
The culture in some teams in Vestas Chennai is very toxic. Some leaders create a very negative environment. They show regional and language favouritism, giving better treatment to people who speak Tamil or who are from the Danish headquarters. If you do not speak the Tamil language, you are bullied, humiliated, harassed, intimidated and indirectly pressured to leave the organization. Such leaders dominate meetings, do not let others speak, do not listen to other people's perspectives/points of views, are way too outcome oriented without looking at context. They then provide false negative feedback to smear employees. In town halls, the same leaders talk a lot about inclusivity, diversity and psychological safety, but in reality none of this is practiced in real life. They only care about results, and keep bullying, humiliating, harassing and pressuring employees until their mental and physical health is severely impacted and they quit. These leaders are protected by the organization, getting new makeshift roles when they have barely anything meaningful to do after major restructuring or organizational changes. The HR team are of no help either. Instead of standing up for employees, they simply protect these leaders without properly investigating what has really happened. In some teams in Vestas Chennai office, the employees are used until they burn out and then they are discarded. The leaders in some teams also do not welcome the employees into the organization. They do not believe in providing structured onboarding or training for the first couple of weeks. They just overload tasks into the employee and overwhelm them within a couple of days of joining and set them up for failure without any structured onboarding.
