Pros
fair pension scheme. dental and health care.
Cons
where do i start... abysmal management HSE are absolutely useless, care more about petty cleaning issues than major site safety Site manager is one of the worst figures of authority I have ever seen, cares only for process and doesn't give a damn about people or Safety. unrealistic expectations often forced overtime PPE stolen from current staffs lockers by management to give to new starters employees made to walk 1.3km from car park to offices whilst management can drive their cars right to the door illegally breaking daily rest period law feel of discrimination from within cliques in the company ideas from employees are ignored completely complaints procedure is almost a black hole you can put something into it but will never get anything out of it. employee turnaround is crazy. almost like one in one out, in all my years of working in this industry i have never seen a record quite like it. the worst thing is management are prepared for it and know people won't stay so have a backlog of starters ready to sweep in. wage is brilliant (if you live on the isolated lump of land just off the solent)... on the mainland it's below average for 12hr shifts. i know most of the employees are seeking work elsewhere. promised rewards for overtime never delivered. wages hardly ever correct (monthly pay) and corrections take another month. overtime is paid month over month. night shifts have been forced on staff making the site dangerous. the ground conditions are so poor equipment is often damaged then operators are blamed and drug and alcohol tested to find blame even though they bang on about a *no blame culture* no real chance for progression in any position (unless your in the club) management would rather someone was injured than stop production.
