Pros
The frontline staff is great. I enjoyed everyone I worked with in various departments with the exception of C-Suite
Cons
Don’t take the bait. I was sold the idea the JG was turning VirTra around and that he was open to input. I was also told that they offered a “competitive benefits package”. Once on board I learned that the low base pay was just the beginning. Vacancies are NOT due to growth or promotions. In the short time I’ve been there, it seemed as though someone was quitting weekly. You are expected to do the job of 5 departments for low pay. There are no inside sellers or customer success managers and they might as well have gotten rid of project management because sales team is expected to do all of that work on top of managing an extremely large territory. As far as the “competitive benefits package” it’s a high deductible health plan with an HSA. The PPO is so expensive it might as well not even be offered. Retirement is a basic 401k with 4% match. A whopping 2 weeks of paid vacation that is accrued. And don’t think because you’re in a salary role, that you’ll be treated like an adult. You’re still expected to submit a daily time sheet and your activity will be micromanaged beyond belief. Do not take the bait.
