Pros
Compared to how things were going 2+ years ago, the company has significantly improved since John Givens replaced Bob Ferris as CEO. He got rid of a lot of higher-ups like Matt Burlend that were pulling the company down. Processes run smoothly and there is no longer any room for excuses. Almost everyone in this small company (maybe a little bit over 110 employees) is a pleasure to work with. They are friendly and helpful. Everyone has gotten much better at taking accountability than they have in the past. The product the company makes and sells is the best in the industry. You feel like you are doing something good by providing high quality training to police and military.
Cons
The salary is lower than average. Do a quick Google search on what the average pay is for the position you are applying for and realize that at VirTra you will be getting less than that. There are opportunities for raises but they are not huge unless you get a significant promotion. Sales is still struggling despite the department being reorganized. The issues with company operation and service have been fixed, but now they have nothing to do because sales is not selling systems. 2024 is one of the worst years for sales despite the department reorganization. This is an issue because it affects everyone's profit sharing cut.
