Pros

Awesome products, great place to learn new skills. Salary is average, but not too bad. There are some good engineers working at VB for a very long time that have amazing knowledge.

Cons

UK Department - The company's travel policy and expenses are horrendous. Lower level staff are used and abused. They are expected to work long hours for days at a time, Often days and nights without rest in between. (Because they are stretched) Sometime when they have personal problems going on at home. They will still send you away from home during these tough times. (Examples from myself and fellow employees in the UK: Wife heart attack, wife miscarriage, close family terminally ill) Even some staff have been ill and had hospital appointments, they will still send you abroad or far away from home in the UK. They have no regard for their lower level staff. When travelling, they don't want to cover all your expenses for food and drink, (they do, but limit your spending to £20-£25 a day) Impossible to live on that at international airports where a coffee is £5+. They also book you into the cheapest hotels if you are lower level staff, often dirty and inhumane. (I speak from experience)

Pros

Great vision, ambition to be a leader

Cons

No real product. Lack of trust. Pros Vision-Box is a very dynamic organization, growing fast. Very passionate and smart people. Young, fresh, informal, innovation environment. Very visionary people with great skills. Great innovation and business. Exciting industry and interesting products. Very flexible organization, quick to react to market and very business and customer-oriented. Good growth opportunities with new management functions appearing. Exciting place to actually create value, as there is a lot to do and much to create from scratch. Cons Very uninspiring, arrogant, autocratic leaders, squeezing the lemon until it's dry, never saying thank you, never apologizing, never committed to support your success (let alone well-being and happiness.). Not committed to strategy, as they thrive in confusing, misleading situations, where conflict reigns and employees are easily caught in traps. The employer is always to blame and is never good enough to meet the "goals". Disorganized, chaotic environment. No strategy, no tactics. very short term view. No culture of recognition and appreciation. No team work in most departments. Administration does not trust people. Loads of micro-management. Top-down approach to managament. Very autocratic. Your voice has no value. Nothing is ever good enough. If it's wrong, you are always to blame. Problems presist year after year, unsolved. All projects have high risks. Issues never antecipated. Problems grow into monsters and are remediated with pain and effort from some of the good guys. High performers are hardly ever recognized. Low performers dwell around the company, mostly chatting, and never receive negative feedback, are never fired and are never encouraged to re-engage with the company. Departmental silos with great innefficiencies, disfuncional governance.
