Pros
You are giving back and saving lives while working here. You will work with healthy donors who want to give back as well. They provide 3 weeks of PTO upon hire and excellent 401K matching. It's a time of change so be prepared for a little chaos -but that makes it fun because you will learn a lot! Some positions allow remote working opportunity.
Cons
If you don't like change - you will not do well here. If you work with the donors you will work at least a 40 hour work week. Sometimes more. It's been a merger so there is some disconnect from corporate because they are not very present and engaged with the regional locations. A con may be that you will not earn what you could in a hospital or big lab. This is a non-profit and if profits are not good the increases will be lower than healthcare industry average. You will pay for your benefits (at least 20%) but that is better than some organizations! If you have inflexible availability or extra curricular activities and can't work the schedule this is not the job for you.
