Pros

Joined as it was a cool tech product and had interesting challenges in IoT and computer vision. Some decent members of the team, and generally positive co-workers. The good folks typically leave quickly.

Cons

- RUN away from this company (would give 0/5 if I could) - Founders hire close friends for leadership roles that are unsuited for them. Have had issues with lack of knowledge of the market, product, and negatively impacting company cultures. - CEO and COO in particular all scoff at diversity initiatives, constantly saying they won't lower the bar for diverse candidates, and then hire their white/male friends for roles they aren't suited for. Interviewers make explicit comments on candidate gender, ethnicity. Have heard COO say "I'd have a beer with X" for candidates they want to hire. You are hiring for a business role, not to make friends!! - Company has never had a strategic vision for their product or market. Poor leadership, lack of direction, and when things go wrong, leadership never takes accountability. - The business is struggling, there is no product or sales leadership and the future is bleak. - The company has been around for almost 10 years and had MULTIPLE redundancies to kick people out who have pointed out obvious workplace issues. Maybe the issue is with leadership not with your employees??

Pros

The culture is genuinely friendly and collaborative - it may sound cliché, but it’s true that everyone is willing to help. Colleagues are extremely knowledgeable (you’ll work with some of the smartest people, including graduates from Oxford and Cambridge) that are genuinely driven by their passion for promoting sustainable travel. The business attracts amazing talent that is both highly competent and deeply committed to its mission, which is rare to find. Unlike at a larger multinational, you’ll have close relationships with management and the freedom to voice your opinions and ask questions openly.

Cons

The founders and management team are relatively junior, and some of their investment decisions have created additional stress for the business and its employees. As the company is still scaling, certain processes are not yet fully organized, though they are continuously being developed and improved and as employee you get the chance to contribute and partake in the process. At times, the prioritization of projects, business strategy or processes doesn’t feel quite right, which ties back to the inexperience of the management team.
