Most positions do not offer regular shifts. You might open one day and close the next. Since the store opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 12 midnight, this policy creates a wide range of irregular working hours. Every week is different, with different shifts and different days off. All checkers are required (with considerable pressure) to collect for medical charities. If you don't collect a certain quota, you are chastised. The store is almost always understaffed, which means everyone from management down to entry level is stretched and stressed to their limit.
