Pros
I am enjoying my employment with WP Communications. One of the things I like the most is the supportive work environment. When I started, I had no experience in the PR and marketing industry, and I was quite nervous as this was my first “real” job. The team really took their time to guide me, show me the ropes and were incredibly kind and patient about it. I am not afraid to ask questions and request support on tasks as I know that I won’t get into trouble for it. Working with WP Communications has pushed me to try many things that I had not done before. As it is a scale-up, employees tend to wear many hats in the company, so I had the opportunity to learn on the job in various areas, which is something I have enjoyed and look forward to doing more of.
Cons
As the company is a scale-up, there is a lot of responsibility to take on from the start, which felt a little overwhelming. The workload can get heavy as the company continues to grow and attract clients. There will be times where work needs to be done at odd hours or on weekends. The pay may also be a little tight for those on a part-time contract living in a major city, so the company is supportive and accommodating in encouraging part-time employees to seek other employment outside the working arrangement.
