Pros

The actual employees are amazing people and great to work with.

Cons

Management is a nightmare. Disrespectful, degrading and will yell at you without a second thought. Cannot handle breaking news or someone with a differing opinion.

Pros

They have decent benefits. Most of the people are great to work with. You'll get to work on projects you might not have elsewhere. Locally owned. It's not Gray or Sinclair. Resume builder.

Cons

Too many meetings. Pay is terrible if you work in a position management doesn't prioritise. Managers can't seem to make timely decisions, yet need to micromanage every little part of your day. They say they are focused on work/life balance yet choose air every single show on holidays. What good is a decent 401k match when I'm one bad week from living on the streets? No upward mobility. Management would probably start a fire or rob a bank if it meant WRAL was first on the air with it. Relies too much on consultants. Doesn't listen to the people that actually have to work with equipment/do the job everyday. Wouldn't know an original idea if it hit them over the head. Arrogant and stubborn, willing to drop 3-4 times more than a project is worth before finally settling on something they should have went with the first time. Locally owned business. Jimmy Goodmon (President/COO) hasn't really struggled for a thing in his life. His biggest struggle is deciding which 100k car he will buy next or the next baseball league his family will buy. But god forbid he pays his employees enough for them to survive.
