Pros
None (unless you happen to be lucky enough to have good colleagues that also happen to be working there).
Cons
The corporate machine is a bloated, uninformed, uneducated body of people managing from afar, in Quebec, consistent with Quebec corporate practices of putting dollars first, quality and people second and third. You have 5 to 7 levels of "management" above you, all amazingly unqualified to actually manage technical staff, as they either (a) did minimal actual practice themselves, or (b) don't even have university degrees in their subject areas (the old adage of "those who can't do, teach... and those who can't teach, administrate" fully applies here). The philosophy of corporate is to increase company share value at ALL costs, which translates into: 1) gobbling up small companies, 2) increasing chargeability targets to ludicrously unobtainable long-term targets, then 3) giving staff "temporary" layoffs until they quit, and the cycle repeats. What results is a loss of the best, most talented staff, rock-bottom morale, and work quality that is absolutely sub-par for engineering/science.
