Pros

If you are lucky to be on the traveling staff then you get the incredible benefit of being able to travel the globe expenses free (incl. hotel, airfare, food etc.). For travel staff, the company does well in terms of work-life balance, days off, PTO, comp days etc.

Cons

No career path or career development plan in place. No bi-annual or annual review / feedback system in place. Poor communication and transparency from both department heads and executive staff. Nepotism and conflicts of interest run rampant at this organization. Executive staff does not know how to delegate certain tasks, department silos and therefore have become comfortable with having too much power and can't delegate or give some of it up. Every time they try to hire a new VP to help alleviate workload, the new hires then get squeezed out in 6 months to a year because the executives don't like experiencing the loss of power.

Pros

The people are great! It is a very family feeling work culture. Provides many with the opportunity for international travel and a great place to learn about how governing bodies operate as well run events.

Cons

As it is working in sports in general, the pay is on the lower end of the spectrum. It is a lean company, so many people do end up doing work outside their job purview. Opportunities for growth are slow.
