Pros

I want to address some of the recent reviews. It has been a hard year with leadership changes and the macro economic pressures leading to growing pains, but I am consistently touched by how hard the leadership team is working to connect and understand, and how they are taking ownership for their actions that haven't always landed. Do I perfectly understand every decision -- no. But do I trust that the leadership team is doing what they believe is right to support Walden not just continuing as it is but growing to be the industry defining regenerative agriculture leader that it is poised to become, yes. And along the way they are trying to really understand what makes Walden unique and taking the time to own their mistakes. All this being said, I still believe there are many pros to working at Walden, and I strongly believe it is not a sinking ship, just experiencing a lot of change at once so it took on a little water but the boat is still sound. Some of the pros: you can have an immediate impact -- every employee is unique and valuable since we are a small company. You can work with a lot of really smart, talented, caring, and friendly people (some of my closest friends are coworkers). You can partake in our growing company culture where we now do things like halloween costume contests and pumpkin carving, or grabbing a beer after work at the new Treehouse in Tewksbury. You have a lot of room to grow and flex into new roles. You get weekly free meat and a 25% discount on two subscriptions. You can witness and take part in a company that is really genuinely trying to support all stakeholders, from farmers to employees to members to communities. If people are still worried, I want to point out that the vast majority of our longest tenured employees are still here, which I believe points to the trust we have in the future of the company.

Cons

Change management can be hard, and new leaders are still getting their feet under them. It is a small company, so there isn't a ton of redundancy in responsibility. I think people who will succeed in this environment right now are the ones who are not too cynical, can roll with the punches, and aren't afraid of voicing their opinions.

Pros

Vehicles have heat/AC. Friendly and helpful hourly co-workers.

Cons

Where to begin; succinctly, every day is like the first day in business. Watch out for unfair labor practices and nepotism.
