Pros

There are many opportunities to serve a people in such trying circumstances. It’s genuinely a wholesome location to work at. People care and want to work with you.

Cons

Management tends to focus heavily on surface-level metrics like punctuality while actively avoiding deep-seated workplace conflicts and staff boundary-stepping. Shifting communication expectations regarding how to report these issues creates ambiguity, isolates staff, and has directly contributed to high employee turnover.

Pros

Wasatch has a large variety of mental health programs, for those interested in specific populations. Working at Wasatch's youth crisis program, Vantage Point-Provo, felt like having a family away from home. Everyone was supportive of each other. Expectations are well communicated and there's good structure but also just enough leeway if you're wanting to switching things up. Most kids enjoy their stay because it's a break from their stressful home environments.

Cons

Expect a moderate level of bureaucracy for certain decisions to be made and for documentation since this is both a large company and quasi-governmental- meaning they're contracted with the government. They have to abide by a lot of rules and regulations. Could be a con or pro: Vantage Point doesn't teach restraints/holds. You just have to get out of the way if a client becomes violent (which is rare). While I was with Wasatch HR often wouldn't answer my e-mails and when they did, would give out conflicting information. I believe they were undergoing some turnover.
