Pros

- Beautiful office in a great location - Some amazing, lovely and kind people - Some really intelligent and clever people + technology

Cons

- Lots of extremely young + talented employees means some great people but many are too junior/afraid to speak up - If you're mid-senior level of experience be extremely careful - majority of senior leadership is only concerned with looking good and keeping their departments protected - Senior managers will lie directly to your face and to others - KPIs aren't taken seriously by management but you will be held accountable to them - You can be thrown under the bus rather than have managers admit the direction or performance on a project is underperforming, to the point where people will lose their jobs.

Pros

Some of the staff was quite lovely and helpful. Much appreciation to them. Otherwise my overall rating would be ZERO.

Cons

I worked briefly at Wattpad as an Independent contractor with their Creative Services Team at the beginning of 2025. Unfortunately, my experience was an absolute nightmare.

The Sr. Manager of Creative was not only consistently unorganized and unprepared but also displayed an aggressively angry and unprofessional disposition.

There was a notable lack of clear direction, with leadership failing to answer basic questions or address blaring operational issues. - If you can’t even provide your team with the login credentials they need to access company accounts how are they expected do their job???

Hiring managers are responsible for on-boarding and training
but rather than taking responsibility for systemic problems, management consistently shifted blame to me. This environment not only stifled any chances of success but also created significant frustration and low morale amongst the wider team.

To add insult to injury it took MONTHS of back and forth emails with their finance department to finally receive pay for hours worked.

I hope by sharing my story I can help someone avoid the treatment I was made to suffer.
