Pros

I cannot recommend working for Waypoint. During my time as a DSP, I observed what I believed were serious failures in accountability. In my experience, employees who I felt engaged in neglectful or inappropriate care were not adequately addressed despite concerns being raised. That was deeply troubling to me because the individuals we supported deserved safe, respectful, and consistent care. I ultimately felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and I could no longer work in an environment that I believed was failing both its employees and the people it served.

Cons

If you value your morals, your work-life balance, and fair compensation, Waypoint is not the place for you. I worked there as a DSP for over 11 years, and I watched the job change dramatically. Expectations continued to increase while support, appreciation, and compensation did not keep pace. Employees were often expected to take on more responsibilities without the staffing or resources needed to do the job well. The people we supported deserved excellent care, and the DSPs deserved better support than they received. I ultimately left because I no longer felt valued, and I could no longer justify the impact the job had on my personal life.

Pros

Waypoint is a great workplace as the environment is makes it enjoyable to work. there is room to grow and managers help their staff to grow.

Cons

Pay could be a little better, but for a non profit, they are very giving.

Great members & company vehicles

Cons

Many things...more strict rules + lack of adequate pay for workload dealt with + a schedule that frequently changes without being told + overall getting treated like a bowel movement + poor work/life balance (example: it used to be Waban Projects which was better overall...better staffing & scheduling...once Waypoint Maine took over automatic 12 hour shifts & cameras in homes) + repetively consistent notes
