Pros
During my stint there the software development had some quite remarkable talent. It's an extremely good place to learn firsthand about the typical pitfalls in software development processes. And there's free breakfast.
Cons
The working environment was as toxic as it can get. Any kind of progress or improvement was severely hampered by two main factors: obvious favouritism, and a complete lack of disregard towards best practices in software development. The whole process revolved around sales, which, coupled to an extreme case of micromanagement, left the team with unbearable levels of technical debt. There was not a single engineer in the management team, meaning an absolute disregard for our craft and a blatant ignorance of basic project management and software architecture skills; nevertheless, that didn't prevent them from driving the process as they wished, typically (yet obviously) producing a substandard result. Any attempt at improving working conditions would be met with belittling comments.
