Pros

WeRoad is a super exciting and dynamic place to work. The ambition of the company is off the scale and everyone is dedicated to delivering on the company's potential. The environment is stretching but very supportive, underpinned by a desire for people to enjoy themselves at work.

Cons

While the pace of change is a benefit, it can also be a challenge - it's important to be resilient to change and to be prepared to be flexible and adaptable to best serve the needs of the business.

Pros

Great opportunities to learn new skills. Great colleagues and opportunities to team build. Good line management. Remote/flexi work options + ability to travel. International experience and networking opportunities. Decent pay and bonus scheme.

Cons

Senior management and stakeholders unclear of the direction they actually wish to go in, resulting in numerous last minute changes to strategy and execution. Very political at the top which causes issues to trickle down internally. Stressful and end up juggling too many things at once with little to no reward or recognition.

Pros

If you know nothing about leading trips you can get a free flight to location of your trip and back.

Cons

Firstly, they send coordinators to countries with no work visas and break multiple laws. There is minimal training. The pay is not even close to any other tourism job and the reason they have no properly trained staff is that anyone who has worked in the industry knows what they offer is offensive. No support for situations that could turn dangerous. For example, horse riding activity with no safety equipment/helmets, encouraging dangerous activities like motorcycle transport where no helmets were provided with no support for the coordinator is something went wrong. The expectation for their coordinators who are paid so poorly, is to plan all activities with no support or industry-expected commission. The Swedish Lapland trip is sold as a full itinerary but they only only provide accommodation and the overnight train. Incredibly poorly behaved trip leaders who do not build working relationships with local suppliers or encourage their passengers to be respectful. In many places (Sweden and Iceland as one example) the majority of tourism companies refuse to work with the Coordinators due to groups turning up late, the coordinator having no control or time management for their groups. Would not recommend, even if you think this will get you into the tourism industry. Don't do it! Study and train with a reputable company.
