Don't trust any of the positive reviews! - Sales WeVee Employee Review

Pros

WFH That’s honestly all I can think of. I used to think that a relatively high base salary was a positive thing but the way the bonuses are structured you will end up earning only the base salary and let’s be honest, that is very little when you work in sales! The team used to be great but that has changed as well.

Cons

Very toxic environment! I won’t spend much time talking about the CEO because he’s been mentioned in lots of other reviews below and I agree with all the negative words that were used to describe that person. He has zero trust in his employees and wants to control literally everything, it’s either his way or no other way. But he’s not the only problem at WeVee. This company has no HR department, well the CFO is responsible for the HR matters but every time you send him an email you will receive an automated response that he has limited access to his emails and to be honest that is probably for the best because he has the worse people skills ever! You will hear words like: “I am so disappointed in you!” when you refuse taking another task on that’s completely out of your job description. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a startup, we all know how it works, you will do more than you’re expected to do but the worst part is that you will never be rewarded for it, not even recognised and when you’re overloaded and tired of working till late evening hours you will hear from your CFO/HR that you are a disappointment. The most discouraging however is the COO who would gain your trust at first and would make you feel like you can actually be successful within this company but the minute you turn your back you will get stabbed and blamed for every problem. He has no actual power because as mentioned before CEO controls everything so even if you share feedback or ideas of how to fix the problems, nothing will be actioned. Don’t trust any of the positive reviews you see below! None of it is true! One of the most recent ones says that the only con there is, is the fact that there is no parking available… WeVee don’t even have an office, everyone is WFH! As I said do not trust any of the positive ones, it’s all a lie! People are leaving this company without another job secured because they no longer want to be part of that toxic environment, that really says it all.

WeVee Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with WeVee. We are sorry to hear that your time with us was not positive, and we take your feedback very seriously. It is through such honest and direct feedback that we can understand our shortcomings and strive to improve. We recognise the importance of a healthy and positive work environment, especially in a remote setting. It is concerning to hear that you felt the environment was toxic. We are committed to fostering a respectful and supportive workplace, and we will be looking into the issues you've raised to ensure that all our employees feel valued and respected. Regarding the concerns about management, trust, and leadership, these are areas we continuously aim to improve upon. We believe in open communication and trust among our team members and leaders. We will reflect on the points you've mentioned to better our management approach and ensure our leadership team is supportive and constructive. We understand that in a start-up environment, roles can be dynamic and sometimes extend beyond typical job descriptions. However, it is crucial that such contributions are recognised and valued. We will reassess our reward and recognition processes to ensure they are fair and reflective of the hard work and dedication of our team. The point about the HR department and communication challenges with the CFO is well noted. We acknowledge that effective HR support is crucial for any organisation, and we will be looking into improving this aspect to ensure that all team members have the support they need. As for the COO's role and the feedback loop within the company, your comments highlight a need for us to review our internal communication and feedback processes. We aim for every team member to feel heard and for their feedback to be actioned upon. Regarding your comment about the positive reviews, we want to assure you that we value authentic feedback, whether positive or negative, as it helps us grow and improve. We are committed to addressing the issues raised in your review and will take steps to ensure a more transparent and genuine representation of our company culture. Lastly, we are sorry that you felt the need to leave without securing another job. This is not the experience we want any of our employees to have. We wish you the best in your future endeavours and thank you again for your candid feedback. We will use it as a stepping stone to better ourselves as a company.

Pros

Remote working, better basic wage than dealer environment, the people you work with on a day to day basis are great and supportive

Cons

The C suite members really let the company down. There is a severe lack of communication and organisation which is vital for a successful start up. Constant lies and over promising which leaves the team demotivated. They also refuse to spend on marketing so leads are low quality and they don’t receive the volume to make an impact. My advice to people thinking of joining the company would be to take all the negative reviews seriously, they’re spot on

Pros

The pay was good, but it's not enough to work at Wevee

Cons

This is the worst run company I have ever experienced. What I was told about the role in the interview was not accurate, and after 3 days of "training" I was given a list of years old leads and told to phone them. Leads that have been contacted multiple times by previous sales people, and who have zero chance of converting. There are absolutely no new leads, and I have no idea how WeVee is still around. There is no sales strategy, there are no internal processes, there is no focus on good customer service, and everyone is just fumbling around trying to do their best. You will be micromanaged into oblivion, and Paul Fagan will be calling you for hours every day, because I can only think he likes the sound of his own voice. The worst part of this experience is how Paul Fagan lied to my face in the interview process when I specifically asked about the high staff turnover. I was told that this person was on maternity leave, this person was on a "mental health break" etc. I even phoned the "maternity leave" employee, and he told me that it was a lie and that he had quit. His baby hadn't even been born yet. Bottom line is avoid this company like the plague and do not be tempted by the money. Also take note of the other reviews, because they are 100% accurate
