Pros
Steady paycheck, average benefits, good people to work with that are all there for the same purpose. Many dedicated and loyal employees that work hard to keep the company successful during both tough and good economic times.
Cons
Company does not keep up with wages, especially in the regards of tradespeople during a time when it is so hard to attract and retain them. Upper management has this opinion that people are "just lucky to be employed". Very poor communication from corporate office to satellite divisions of the company. The companies philosophies, and mission statements on their website do not match what actually occurs on the jobsite and for many employees that are dedicated and loyal to this company. This has personally been experienced from working in several of their operations. Upper management at divisions of West Fraser scared to voice their opinion or speak on behalf of employees concerns due to "corporate retaliation". Once employees quit and can't be replaced more pressure is put on remaining staff to fill the void.
