Pros
Westat has many smart, dedicated employees, which is one of its strongest assets. Many teams are filled with colleagues who are thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply committed to their projects. I had good experiences with workload and work/life balance.
Cons
In recent years, the company has gone through significant changes that haven’t always benefited the workers who keep the projects moving and bring in new work. These changes have only accelerated since 2025 given the drastic changes to the federal landscape. Pay and benefits remain competitive on paper, but long‑standing employee benefits are gradually being chipped away. I don't know how much of this is a general trend across the industry, or if it's specific to Westat.
