Pros

Sometimes the culture is good. Sometimes it's over the top and invasive. Good place to get your start in digital marketing. Pretty websites. "Infinite" PTO.

Cons

Michael is controlling and really got disrespectful in the past year. He's the CEO, so watch out. If he doesn't like you, you'll know it. He likes to hire "yes men" and dislikes anyone with a different opinion. Reviews are convoluted and corporate feeling, which doesn't seem right with the whole "culture" being pushed by management. You feel like a cog in a machine and it sucks. Michael seems to want people to "fight" for their raises instead of just being a good employer and providing them. I know people who didn't even get costs of living wage increases, when they were promised. Infinite PTO isn't truly infinite, but it's way better than most places.

Pros

Wonderist has achieved something rare: maintaining startup culture and innovation while building the structure and processes of a mature agency. Well-documented operating procedures and strategic hiring planning mean you get the best of both worlds - freedom to move fast with the preparation to avoid chaos. Leadership actually understands AI. We're not replacing people or chasing trends. We're using AI tools to augment what our creative teams do best. ChatGPT is great, but Wonderist uses AI in completely different ways that make me feel like I'm extremely far ahead of most in terms of utilizing the technology daily in new and exciting ways. If you want to carve your own path, this is the place. New roles emerge frequently (based on need) meaning if you perform at a high level, there will be opportunity for you. You're trusted to own your work and try new approaches. The founders understand that people power this business. They don't just say it, they prove it all the time. Our Culture Manager regularly surveys the team, and leadership actually implements changes based on that feedback. You're measured on outcomes, not hours logged or busy work. If you care about producing quality work for clients and driving real results, you'll thrive here.

Cons

The autonomy is real, which means you need to be comfortable figuring things out independently. If you need constant direction or struggle with shifting priorities, this probably isn't your fit. The pace requires adaptability. This isn't a place to coast. You don't need to want constant promotion, but you do need to consistently deliver quality work and care about your clients. Average isn't the standard here.
