If you ever hear a company culture described as, "like a family," RUN. This is certainly true, but only in the most toxic ways. Upper management regularly gaslights employees, and has a proven track record of ignoring (and at times supporting) racist and sexist behaviors. Don't waste your time going to HR, they will give lip service and then take 0 actions. There were multiple times where I was made to feel genuinely uncomfortable and/or unsafe and when this was communicated to management/HR no action was taken.
When work-related issues arise the general consensus seems to be that it is your fault personally. Never mind poor schedules, under-staffing, or ill-prepared content. It is on you to make sure nothing fails. And if it does you're on the line.
Also? Subpar pay, benefits, and a major lack of career growth trajectories.
