Pros
Opportunities to learn. Management seemed keen to know what your aspirations were. Leads were encouraged to provide on the job training.
Cons
Big company and even bigger organizational charts. Your manager was often in a separate location, with only your lead supervising. Individuals took advantage of this and often abused the lack of oversight. Some would go shopping all day and still fill 8 hours in their timesheet, others spent the day chatting, or at the nearby coffee shop. Company was completely inflexible with chronic illnesses and would not allow timesheets less than 40 hours. If you ran out of vacation or sick time, you were expected to make up the time you were absent on evenings or weekends. Absolutely no exceptions, even with a doctors note. If you could not comply with salaried hours you were told that they no longer have project hours to sustain your employment. They would rather you go on paid disability than accommodate an illness.
