Pros
Percy pigs they sent us at Christmas. That's how bad it was.
Cons
Where do I begin? The pay? The management, especially the way they treated their staff? Let's start with the pay. It was a pathetic amount and I knew of other companies, with the exact same roles, paying their staff at LEAST double of what I was getting. I definitely wasn't getting paid/recognised enough for the amount I was working and it felt exploitative, a theme that pops up regularly in this role at the company. I even had family members and staff members from my institution tell me that what they were doing was wrong and dodgy (so it wasn't just me!). You could argue that I could've just left my role early (which I did do) and get a job with better pay but that's where it gets even more messy because the notice period was 4 months! Again, the company says that it's to keep continuity with your students, and to not leave them abruptly until a new tutor is found - all of which I agree with, but 4 months is a joke and online Yipiyap tutors could have easily been accessed as they had a platform for online tutoring. Yet again, everyone I spoke to about the notice period thought it was exploitative. During the 4 months of my notice (I quit because the job wasn't worth the amount of work I was doing and I was starting to get seriously ill), they did try to get me to come back, with reduced working days etc but where was this support when I wasn't about to leave?
