Pros
pension, that is about it
Cons
I spent years with this company and genuinely cared about my role, customers, and doing a good job. Unfortunately, the harder I worked, the more seemed expected of me, and the more I was told 'you are capable of more', whilst others were nowhere near the same standard. I regularly took on additional responsibilities, picked up work from others and consistently went above and beyond, only to be left feeling completely unsupported when the pressure became too much.
The culture often felt more like a school playground than a professional workplace. Cliques, favouritism, and extremely unprofessional behaviour were tolerated, while genuine concerns were minimised or ignored. Instead of addressing issues, management appeared more interested in protecting themselves than listening to employees.
The company talks extensively about wellbeing and supporting colleagues, but my experience was the complete opposite. The stress and anxiety caused by my working environment became so severe that it began affecting my sleep, my confidence, my physical health and my day to day life.
I reached a point where I felt I had no option but to leave for the sake of my mental health.
What disappoints me most is that none of this was sudden. Concerns were raised, and opportunities to address the issues were given. Nothing changed.
I loved helping customers, but I left feeling exhausted, disillusioned, and with significantly worse mental health than when I started.
I would never recommend working for YBS.
