Pros

Free team lunches and snacks in the office on the surface

Cons

Insufficient onboarding and training, which made it difficult to get up to speed in the role. Expectations were not always clearly communicated, especially during the probation period. The workplace culture felt quite cliquey, and progression opportunities did not always seem to be based purely on performance. Overall, it was a challenging environment to settle into as a new starter.

We recently launched "Your First Chapter at Yoto", our refreshed onboarding journey, and ensure new starters meet their manager in person on their first day, as well as scheduling a variety of induction sessions. We also recently relaunched our growth and development framework, with performance reviews now directly tied to those criteria, to ensure opportunities for progression are tangible and measurable. Developing company so the office is kind of small, but it is in an accessible location and remote work is frequent.

Cons

Office in Brooklyn in a pretty crowded area, mostly remote but requires going in a few times a month.
